Editorial Policy
Everyday Addis publishes practical guides meant to be genuinely useful. This page explains how those guides are written, sourced, and corrected, so you know what stands behind them.
Original, useful content
Every article is written specifically for this site. We do not copy or closely paraphrase other publications. Guides are built around what a real reader needs to know and do, not around keywords or filler.
Accuracy and fact-checking
Specific claims, such as prices, opening hours, fares, dates, and official procedures, are checked before publishing. Because costs and rules in Ethiopia change over time, we date time-sensitive figures (for example, a cost table marked "as of" a given month) and encourage readers to confirm current details before relying on them. Where a fact could not be fully verified, we say so plainly rather than guess.
Sources
We point to official and reputable sources, such as government, tourism, university, bank, and operator pages, so readers can verify things themselves. We link to sources for reference; we do not reproduce their text.
Images and copyright
We use only images we have the right to publish: the author's own photos, original graphics, public-domain images, or properly licensed stock (for example, photos from Unsplash used under its license for commercial use). When a photo comes from a named photographer, that credit appears in the caption. We do not use copyrighted images without permission.
Personal experience
Where a guide draws on first-hand experience, it is genuine. We do not invent personal stories or fake having visited a place we have not.
Corrections
If you find an error, please let us know. We correct confirmed mistakes promptly and, where a change is significant, note the update date on the article.
Independence and advertising
Guides are written to help readers, not advertisers. The site may display advertising or, in future, use affiliate links; when it does, that will never change the honest recommendations in an article. Any material relationship that could affect a recommendation will be disclosed.
